Debbie Gross
Debbie Gross, a clinical scientist and child mental health nurse, served as the driving force behind the development of the Chicago Parent Program. Fueled by her deep appreciation for the central role parents play in their children’s lives and the lack of evidence-based programs addressing the needs of families raising young children in under-resourced communities., Gross initiated the program in 2001 as a NIH-funded local initiative. Since then, CPP has blossomed into a national program benefiting parents in urban and rural communities across the country. Relocating to Baltimore in 2008. Gross became the Leonard and Helen Stulman Endowed Professor at Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. She continues to lead the CPP team, overseeing its growth and evolution to effectively meet the needs of families and the diverse communities they call home.
